The red line will close four metro stations in Montgomery County this weekend to allow for purple line work.
Metro stations Silver Spring, Forest Glen, Wheaton and Glenmont will close Saturday, Mar. 14 and Sunday, Mar. 15. WMATA will provide free shuttle buses to replace train cars between Fort Totten and Glenmont. The buses will operate on two routes. One route will operate between Fort Totten and Glenmont, which will not stop at Takoma. Another route will operate between Takoma and Silver Spring only.
Passengers traveling beyond Silver Spring should exit at Fort Totten, says WMATA.
