Montgomery County’s Commission on Aging (COA) will host a free virtual event on Thursday, Jan. 30, from 2 to 3 p.m. The event will highlight programs and resources designed to help older residents live active, healthy, and independent lives.
Attendees can learn about services such as wellness activities, recreation programs, caregiving resources, meal assistance, and transportation options. The event will also provide information on opportunities for learning and employment. Participants will have the chance to engage with the Commission and share their interests and concerns.
“We are committed to supporting older adults in Montgomery County by providing the resources they need to remain active, connected, and independent,” said County Executive Marc Elrich. “This event is an opportunity for residents to learn about available services and engage with the Commission on Aging. Together, we can ensure our older residents have the tools to live full, healthy lives in our community.”
While the event is free, registration is required. Registered participants will receive a Zoom link a few days before the event.
The COA advises the County Executive, County Council, and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) on the needs and challenges of older adults. The commission identifies key advocacy areas to help older residents age in place and stay engaged in their communities.
