At his weekly media briefing Monday, Council President Andrew Friedson laid out some of the details about the upcoming Council session with Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) and the Office of the Inspector General (OIG). That meeting will be held on Thursday, Feb. 8.
When asked about the unredacted version of the Jackson Lewis report on the Beidleman investigation Councilmember Will Jawando requested in the September meeting with Board of Education (BOE) President Karla Silvestri and MCPS Superintendent McKnight, here’s what Friedson told MCM:
It was not clear whether MCPS Superintendent Dr. Monifa McKnight will be in attendance at the Feb. 8 Council session.
When asked by another reporter about whether Dr. McKnight should be dismissed from her current position, Friedson stated that decision was a personnel matter to be decided by the BOE. He added, “…it needs to be resolved as quickly as possible.”
