The City of Gaithersburg announced on Twitter that its annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade at the Rio Washingtonian Center is canceled over growing coronavirus concerns. The event was scheduled for March 14 and it will not be rescheduled.
“Out of an abundance of caution to protect the health & safety of our guests, parade participants & employees, the City of Gaithersburg & the Peterson Companies/ @RIOLakefront have cancelled the St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Mar 14,” the tweet says.
