The City of Gaithersburg, partnering with The Peterson Companies and rio, will be hosting the 20th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 19 at 10 a.m., after being rescheduled due to inclement weather.
The parade will begin with a march down Rio Boulevard and Grand Corner Avenue at rio, according to the city’s press release. There will be a variety of organizations and groups participating in the parade including Celtic dancers, bagpipe bands, clowns, firetrucks, equestrian units, and more. This year the Grand Marshal will be 2019 Distinguished Friend of Gaithersburg Mary Canapary, the city’s website states.

After the march until 2 p.m., there will be live entertainment on the lakefront plaza, according to the website. The event will take place rain or shine, unless announced otherwise.
