The Gaithersburg Board of Elections certified the city’s recent election results Wednesday. The winning councilmembers are incumbents Neil Harris and Robert Wu along with Yamil Hernández.
They will be sworn in for their four-year terms by Mayor Jud Ashman Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m.
Residents cast 4,497 votes. There was a 12.12% turnout, which was smaller than the 2021 elections when 12.45% of eligible voters turned out.
Wu was the top vote getter at 3,137 votes, followed by Harris with 3,089 votes. Hernández received 2,361.
There were 1,701 votes cast in-person. Of those, 68 were provisional ballots that were subsequently reviewed by the Board of Supervisors of Elections. There were 2,796 mail-in votes for this election.
