The Gaithersburg Library is partnering with the non-profit organization Write to Right to offer free writing workshops for elementary and middle school students.
The week-long creative writing workshops will take place at the library at 18330 Montgomery Village Ave, from August 14-18, from 1-3 p.m.
Write to Right was founded in 2022 by Tara Prakash, a student at the Sidwell Friends School in Washington, DC., as an Eagle Project for the Boy Scouts of America.
According to the website, the organization began after holding workshops to teach creative writing to elementary school students in local D.C. public schools and has spread to other schools in the DMV area. The organization uses its own curriculum to teach students how to write with hands-on exercises and activities.
