Montgomery County Police have arrested and charged a Gaithersburg man with first-degree rape and attempted second-degree murder of an adult female victim.
Authorities say 32-year-old Patrick Clayton Parker encountered the victim while outside of a business in Silver Spring. A police investigation revealed that Parker eventually offered the victim, who was homeless at the time, a place to stay. While at his home, detectives say Parker sexually assaulted, strangled, and struck the victim in the head.
Police identified Parker as the suspect during the investigation, and authorities developed probable cause to charge him. Parker was arrested on Sept. 28 and is currently being held without bond.
Detectives are concerned Parker may have sexually assaulted other victims and are asking anyone who believes Patrick Clayton Parker victimized them – to call the Special Victims Investigations Division at (240)-773-5050.
