Montgomery County police arrested and charged a man with sexual abuse of a minor on Thursday, May 9, according to a statement by the police.
Police also charged him with displaying obscene material to a minor.
Damon Junior Cruz, 32, allegedly sexually assaulted a minor between November 2021 and February 2024. Cruz was the victim’s hitting and pitching coach.
The Montgomery County Child Welfare Services and the police Special Victims Investigation Division (SVID) began investigating on Tuesday, April 30, after a report of sexual abuse of a minor.
Police took Cruz to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he was released on bond.
Detectives believe there may be additional victims who have not contacted the police.
