The City of Gaithersburg is conducting a survey to learn about existing parking conditions in both residential and commercial neighborhoods. Currently, the city has five different perking permit programs. The city is working to develop a single permit-parking program to address community concerns. The city established a work group with representation from different departments.
The project will consolidate the existing types of parking permits into one program and will make amendments to the city code. The Mayor and Council will review the proposed changes in the spring of 2024 with an anticipated implementation date in mid–2024.
Residents can respond to the short survey about the parking conditions in their neighborhood. The work group will use the feedback from the survey to develop new regulations and changes to the city code.
The survey closes on Sunday, Oct. 1.
