Gaithersburg hosts the annual SportsFest event on Saturday, July 13 starting with the 3K Run around Bohrer Park at 8 a.m.
The 3K running event aims to benefit the cityโs Youth and Teen Sports Program, according to a press release. Participants will receive a City of Gaithersburg Sports T-shirt while supplies last. The runner registration fee is $20 for residents and $25 for non-residents. The run welcomes all ages and abilities.
The event continues from 9 to 11 a.m. with an opening celebration and various sport challenge stations for the youth entering grades K-8.
Participants can receive T-shirts and prizes for completing challenges in soccer, football, baseball, track & field, basketball, volleyball, and an inflatable obstacle course. The free challenge activity stations will be on the front field and inside the Bohrer Park Activity Center, according to the press release.
The Bohrer Park at Summit Hall Farm is at 506 South Frederick Ave. in Gaithersburg. More information on the event and registration can be found here.
