Gaithersburg’s annual Sportsfest event will kick off this Saturday with a 3K Run through Bohrer Park at 8 a.m. The deadline to register for the run is July 12, according to a press release.
This will be the third annual 3K run, and it will benefit the city’s Youth and Teen Sports programs. The course will be around the parkland, and all participants will receive a City of Gaithersburg Sports T-shirt. The registration fee will be $20 for residents and $25 for non-residents. People of all ages and abilities are welcome to participate.
After the run, there will be Sportsfest activities from 9 to 11 a.m. for youth entering grades K through 8. Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their skills and win prizes by taking part in challenges in soccer, football, baseball, track & field, basketball, volleyball and golf. All activities are free and will be held inside the Activity Center and in the front field at Bohrer Park, according to the press release.
