15th Annual Gaithersburg Book Festival: A Literary Success

The rain held off most of the day as readers took in every word of their favorite authors during Saturday’s 15th annual Gaithersburg Book Festival.

MCM spoke with two participating local authors.

Fiction and non-fiction authors, poets, children’s’ authors and biographers talked about and read excerpts from their books. There also were writing workshops for teens and adults, lots of activities for children and opportunities to have newly purchased books signed by their authors.

The event was held at Bohrer Park and conceived and introduced by Gaithersburg Mayor (then council member) Jud Ashman, with the support of the mayor and city council and the Cultural Arts Advisory Committee.
