Mercedes, a German Shepherd from Bethesda, was named Reserve Best in Show (runner-up) at the 148th Westminster Dog Show held at the Billie Jean King Tennis Center, home of the U.S. Open, in New York.
Mercedes beat out 33 dogs to win the Herding Group earlier in the evening. The 4 year-old German Shepherd is handled by Kent Boyles and co-owned by Cynthia Wilhelmy and Sheree Moses according to the American Kennel Club. Mercedes won Reserve Best in Show at the 2023 American Kennel Club National Championship in Orlando.
