A Germantown man was sentenced to 84 months in federal prison for possessing more than 900 Oxycodone Hydrochloride with the intent to distribute them.
Darnell Palmer, 23, also was sentenced for possession of a firearm and ammunition as a convicted felon.
According to his guilty plea, law enforcement officers learned in April 2022 that Palmer was distributing fentanyl. He was observed by officers selling 10 pills that were believed to be Oxycodone Hydrochloride, and actually contained fentanyl, to a person in front of Palmer’s residence.
During a search of Palmer’s residence on June 1, law enforcement officers located 918 fentanyl pills, three bags of marijuana, a digital scale, a loaded Glock 27 handgun, four firearm magazines, other ammunition and $3,611, according to the United State’s Attorney’s Office, District of Maryland.
The pills were light blue and stamped similar to Oxycodone Hydrochloride so people wouldn’t suspect they contained fentanyl, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
