A Germantown man was sentenced Thursday to 25 years in prison for a gang-related shooting at a music studio, according to the county State’s Attorney’s Office.
According to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office (MCSAO), in Aug. 2020, Marvin Frazier, 24, shot a 19-year-old man at a music studio along Montgomery Village Avenue.
The victim became paralyzed from the waist down. Also, Frazier pistol-whipped a 20-year-old man. He fled and was apprehended last year.
Frazier and the victims are associated with rival gangs, according to MCSAO. According to charging documents, Frazier is a validated gang member of Black Mob and one victim is a validated member of the rival gang Hittsquad.
Frazier was sentenced to 40 years with all but 25 suspended, plus five years of supervised probation after release, according to MCSAO. He was convicted this year for charges including attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, use of a handgun in a violent crime, and illegal handgun possession.
Per MCSAO, Frazier was already on probation for unrelated gun charges. He has a hearing for that in Feb. 2024 in which he faces up to another 18 years.
