A Germantown resident has struck gold with a $100,000 win on the Maryland Lottery’s Ultimate Cash scratch-off game, marking a thrilling milestone in his avid scratch-off playing.
The lucky player, who often frequents Best Beer, Wine & Deli in Gaithersburg for his lottery tickets, purchased seven Ultimate Cash scratch-offs during a recent visit. One of the tickets, purchased for $10, revealed the game’s top prize of $100,000 when he uncovered a money bag symbol.
“I thought the machine was broken,” the winner shared, still in disbelief over his good fortune. With his windfall, he plans to treat his girlfriend to a beach getaway before summer’s end but hasn’t made any other major plans for the prize money yet.
Best Beer, Wine & Deli, located at 18749 Frederick Avenue, will also benefit from the win, receiving a $1,000 bonus from the Maryland Lottery for selling the top-prize winning ticket.
The Ultimate Cash game, which launched in June 2023, originally offered eight $100,000 top prizes. As of now, three of these top prizes remain, along with several other substantial prizes, including three $50,000 prizes, 14 $10,000 prizes, and 19 $1,000 prizes.
