Girls With Impact (GWI) has opened registration for its free, 10-week entrepreneurship program, which aims to equip Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) high school students with critical business and leadership skills.
The program covers business planning, marketing and financial literacy.
Annelise Allport, a senior at Poolesville High School, said GWI helped her work toward her goal of becoming a business owner. “My favorite part of the course was seeing my business plan presentation finally come together,” she said. “This program helped me solidify the direction I want to take in my career journey.”
Jaylin Adames, a junior at Winston Churchill High School, said GWI strengthened her presentation and business management skills. She now hopes to pursue degrees in both nursing and business. “Hopefully, I’ll open a private practice and be able to manage it with my new business skills,” she said.
Elisha Senga, a senior at Quince Orchard High School, credited GWI with boosting her confidence and teaching her the importance of serving the community.
“We are all capable of making a difference,” she said.
Elisha encourages other young women to participate, calling GWI a perfect opportunity.
The spring session of GWI begins the week of March 3. Learn more and register here.
