Good Counsel (10-1) finished No.1 in the 2023 Washington Post Top 20 high school rankings. The Falcons defeated rival DeMatha 7-0 in the WCAC championship game Nov. 21 in Annapolis.
Their only loss in 2023 was to nationally-ranked St. Edward from Ohio on the road in the season opener.
It was the Falcons first WCAC title and year-end No. 1 ranking since 2019
Good Counsel finished ahead of Freedom High School from Woodbridge, Va. who completed a 14-0 season winning the Virginia Class 6 title.
