Five-hundred boxes of groceries will be distributed Saturday at White Oak Recreation Center.
Kingdom Fellowship AME Church, in partnership with Capital Area Food Bank and Councilmember Will Jawando, is sponsoring a Grab N’ Go distribution of groceries for families affected by the COVID-19 emergency. It will take place Saturday, April 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., while supplies last. White Oak Recreation Center is located at 1700 April Lane, Silver Spring, Maryland.
“Many residents in the White Oak community rely on public transportation and have also been hit hard by the economic downturn because of COVID-19,” Jawando said in a statement. “The availability of groceries will make a significant difference to residents facing food insecurity.”
