According to court documents, Rivera-Delgado was extradited from Nevada in September of 2023 and then questioned by Montgomery County police officers.
He led police to a wooded area of a park at 3610 Brookville Road in Olney, where he pointed out a shallow grave containing skeletal remains of a female, who later was identified as Sanchez Merino.
He admitted that he had participated with others in May of 2023 in using a machete and taking turns striking her in the neck, according to court documents. He was the one who drove everyone to the park, which is the Oakley Cabin African American Museum and Park.
The suspects then dug a shallow grave and buried the young woman, he told police according to court documents.
