Damascus High School administration addressed hate symbols posted to an internet app.
“I was informed yesterday afternoon that an internet app brings up hate symbols when Damascus High School is entered,” Principal Kevin Yates wrote to families Tuesday.
“I alerted MCPS Security and our Technology Specialists and was advised to go to the app and report the images as hate symbols and request that they be removed. If you know anything about this incident, please contact your administrator. We do not tolerate hate speech in MCPS,” Yates said.
It was reported on social media that images appeared on the Apple Maps app search result for Damascus High School.
