The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a flood watch for Montgomery County and surrounding areas on Thursday from 5:09 p.m. until Friday, Aug. 9 at 8 p.m. Heavy rain is expected that may cause flooding.
The NWS expects the remnants of Debby to move northward through the area, leading to heavy rainfall into Friday. Around two to four inches of additional rain will fall. Some areas may receive as much as six inches of rain.
Flooding kills more people every year than any other weather hazard. Do not drive through flooded areas. If you live in a flood prone area, be prepared to move to higher ground if flooding develops. Please stay alert for any warnings.
