
High winds have caused havoc in the area.
As of 3:30 p.m. Monday, 1,051 Pepco customers were without power. One day earlier, about 6,000 Montgomery County residents were without power.
A tree fell on a house on Maple Leaf Court in Montgomery Village. All occupants escaped uninjured even though the bedroom was occupied at the time the tree fell on the house, according to Pete Piringer, spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS)
On Presidents Day, downed wires and a fallen tree closed New Hampshire Avenue closed between Brighton Dam Road and Greenbridge Road.
MCFRS reported numerous fallen trees on homes and roadways.
