A hearing to judge the competency of Catherine Hoggle, a mother charged with murdering her two young children, will continue into Monday.
It was already extended following last week’s hearing, when Montgomery County Circuit Court Judge James Bonifant questioned Hoggle for competency, however she was not testifying under oath. Troy Turner, the children’s father, testified for the first time and the defense questioned a medical expert.
On Wednesday, the state cross examined that medical expert. The hearing will continue Monday morning in Circuit Court. Other witnesses may potentially be called.
Hoggle is charged with murdering her children, Sarah and Jacob Hoggle, last seen in her care in 2014. Based on state law, the deadline for Hoggle to be restored to competency is Dec. 1. She is committed to the Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center.
