Montgomery County Fire and Rescue (MCFRS) responded to a barn fire early Thursday morning in Potomac that led to the death of a horse.
According to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer, two horses were in the barn at the time of the fire, one of which died after it “succumbed to injuries.” The condition of the horse that survived was not stated.

The entire barn, located off of Stoney Creek Road, was burned to the ground but the reason behind it is still under investigation.
