A family was displaced following a single-story house fire Saturday in Rockville, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) officials.
Firefighters responded to the 300 block of N. Horners Lane near Crabb Avenue in Rockville after 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Three people and two dogs were displaced, according to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, and there were no injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to MCFRS Assistant Chief David Pazos.
The temperature on-scene was 98 degrees, according to Piringer, with a “feel-like” temperature of 104 degrees. Over the weekend, the county was under a Heat Emergency Alert from noon Saturday to 8 p.m. Sunday.
