Brigadier General Charles McGee died Jan. 16 at his home in Bethesda at the age of 102. McGee, an American hero, and Montgomery County’s most famous World War II veteran, was one of the last surviving Tuskegee Airmen. He flew 409 combat missions in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.
McGee’s family will hold a private memorial service Sunday, Feb. 6 at North Chevy Chase Christian Church with Doctor Reverend Cheryl Tatham presiding. Senator Chris Van Hollen will speak at the service.
The McGee family will stream the service Sunday at 3 p.m. A livestream pre-show broadcast will begin at 2 p.m. with videos about McGee’s life.
