It appears as though the I-270 sinkhole saga is over.
The Maryland State Highway Administration (MDSHA) announced on Friday that travel lanes on I-270 are now open after “repair of an underground pipe and significant erosion.” MDSHA added that “the shoulder will remain closed until after the holiday.”
The welcome announcement comes as the much-traveled July 4 holiday weekend begins.
Great news! Travel lanes are open on SB I-270 in time for the holiday weekend after repair of an underground pipe and significant erosion. The shoulder will remain closed until after the holiday. We appreciate your patience. https://t.co/SbAvb0GfFe #MDOTsafety #MDtraffic pic.twitter.com/bPbnml4x2f
