Councilmembers want to help promote sports opportunities for girls in Montgomery County.
On Sunday, County Council President Gabe Albornoz and Councilmember Hans Riemer partnered with the recreation department to host an event, called “HERtime2shine.” It was a chance for girls to try different sports at the White Oak Community Recreation Center.
Last week, the council approved funding for sports programs that are popular with girls in the county, like volleyball.
