What You Need to Know for Rockville, Gaithersburg Elections

Gaithersburg and Rockville will both host city elections on Tuesday, Nov. 7. This is what you need to know before heading to the polls.

Gaithersburg

Gaithersburg residents will vote to fill three council member positions. The candidates are incumbents Neil Harris and Robert Wu and newcomers Yamil Hernández, Daniel Lukomsky, Shanika Whitehurst and Omodamola Williams.

The Bohrer Park Activity Center is the only place to vote in-person this election and to register to vote on election day. The polling place will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Ballot drop-off boxes are available until 8 p.m. on election day at the activity center, city hall, Asbury, Crown Farm, Kentlands, Robertson Park Youth Center and Spectrum Town Center.

Rockville

Rockville residents will vote on four referendum ballot questions and select new city leadership. Two current Rockville council members, Monique Ashton and Mark Pierzchala, are running to be Rockville’s next mayor. There are twelve candidates vying for six Rockville city council positions.

To vote at a polling place, go to Rockville City Hall and Thomas Farm Community Center from 7 a.m to 8 p.m. on election day. Ballot drop-off boxes are available at anytime in the upper parking lot of city hall and the Montrose Community Center. Voters may also drop off ballots during business hours at the Rockville Senior Center, Lincoln Park Community Center, Twinbrook Community Center and Thomas Farm community center.

Voter registration is available on election day in city hall. Mail-in ballots were sent to every registered voter, according to the City of Rockville.
