There are plenty of ways to celebrate Independence Day in Montgomery County.
Takoma Park is hosting a morning parade and an evening street party on July 4. The parade, which kicks off at 10 a.m., features floats, marching groups, music and “representatives of everything Takoma,” according to Takoma Park officials.
The parade goes along Carroll and Maple Avenues.
The street party runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Maple Avenue between Philadelphia and Richie avenues.
The City of Rockville is hosting music by Uncle Jesse and a 20-minute firework display at Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park in King Farm. The event runs from 7 p.m., to 10 p.m. at the park on 1800 Piccard Drive.
Montgomery County is hosting two firework displays this week.
Germantown Glory will be held Thursday, July 4 at 7 p.m. at South Germantown Recreational Park, 18041 Central Park Circle.
Then on Saturday, July 6, Mid-County Sparkles will kick off at 6 p.m. at Albert Einstein High School, 11135 Newport Mill Road, Kensington.
