Roadwork will begin this week in Silver Spring for the Montgomery County Department of Transportation’s (MCDOT) Indian Springs Resurfacing Project to improve long-term roadway conditions.
Residents can expect lane closures, temporary detours and parking restrictions, but MCDOT will attempt to lessen the impact of traffic, according to a newsletter. Temporary no-parking signs will be planted to alert drivers two days before the application of slurry, a sealant to preserve asphalt, starts.
The roadway resurfacing work will last 1-2 weeks Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to the newsletter. However, no-parking restrictions will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Individuals can use the police non-emergency number for cars towed by police.
Drivers and pedestrians should travel through the area with caution during the project, MCDOT said, abiding by all posted signs.
