Tony Conte, chef and owner of Inferno Pizzeria Napoletana in Gaithersburg, has been nominated as a semifinalist for the prestigious James Beard Foundation Awards.
Conte is one of 20 chefs nominated in the Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic (DC, DE, MD, NJ, PA, VA) category.

Inferno features Naples-style pizza.
The awards are named after the famed American chef, author and TV personality who died in 1985.
Winners will be announced June 10, 2024.
