Joan Picks Her Man on Golden Bachelorette Finale

Spoiler alert: This article contains information about the final episode of The Golden Bachelorette

The 9th and final episode of ABC’s inaugural Golden Bachelorette series aired Wednesday night. Joan, a private school administrator from Rockville, thought she had found her second love in Pascal. But in the previous episode, he did not think they were the right fit so he left. “It makes me feel unlovable,” Joan said with tears running down her face.

It came down to a choice between the final two bachelors: Guy, 66, an ER doctor from Nevada and Chock, 60, an insurance executive from Kansas.

Joan, 61, introduced Chock to her family. Her son Nick and the rest of the family members expressed their approval.

Then Joan was supposed to introduce her family to Guy but had made her decision already and broke the news to him.

“Losing Joan makes me feel devastated, sick to my stomach, heart broken,” an emotional Guy said.

With a spectacular setting, Chock got down on his knee and proposed to Joan on the beach at Bora Bora. She said “of course I’ll marry you…This is better than any dream I could possibly have.”

During the “After the Final Rose” finale, host Jesse Palmer surprised Joan and Chock with a trip to Disney World for both of their families. The surprise was a nod to their first date on the show, which took place at Disneyland.
“From our first date in Disneyland, I thought I saw a future with you,” Joan said on the day of their proposal.
