The county government has nearly 1,000 job openings.
On Tuesday, Oct. 3, job seekers who are 18 years and older can attend a county career fair and hiring expo from 3-7 p.m. at the Silver Spring Civic Building in downtown Silver Spring, per a release from the county.
The Silver Spring Civic Building is located at 1 Veterans Place. Registration is not required but is encouraged. Job seekers can register and see job openings on the event’s webpage. The county has full-time, part-time, permanent and temporary positions.
The county held another career fair and hiring expo this year in May. One in seven attendees got a contingent job offer during the event, according to the county.
“With a robust package of benefits, we are committed to providing our employees a work environment that values their talents and fosters their professional growth,” County Executive Marc Elrich said in a written statement.
Departments can discuss opportunities, conduct same‐day interviews for some jobs and make offers, according to the county.
Available positions include administrative and professional, health care and social services, information technology, public safety, as well as retail, trades and labor .
