Known for his humanitarian efforts through World Central Kitchen which regularly responds to disaster areas around the globe to feed people, Jose Andrés has once again been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and other members of the Democratic Party have forwarded his name to the Nobel Committee for consideration.
Since 2010, the Spanish-born celebrity chef has built emergency kitchens worldwide through his nonprofit organization. Andrés and his employees have been on the scene following the outbreak of war in Ukraine, the current crisis in Gaza and the aftermath of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.
Andrés lives with his wife and three children in Bethesda.
