World Central Kitchen (WCK), the nonprofit under chef and Bethesda resident José Andrés, has been in California to give free meals to first responders and locals impacted by wildfires.
“[T]hey fought an impossible battle,” Andrés wrote on social media Saturday after WCK gave back to firefighters in Palisades.
According to Andrés, their food trucks act like ambulances or firetrucks on call — “we can get anywhere and adapt to feed first responders anywhere or people in their neighborhoods or temporary shelters.”
