Friday, July 26
BlackRock Movie Nights: The BlackRock Center for the Arts screens ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2” on the front lawn at 8:30 p.m. Free. Bring a blanket or some lawn chairs for an evening under the stars. The center is located in Germantown at 12901 Town Commons Drive. For more information, click here.
Parks Playhouse Junior Performances: Glen Echo Park’s The Puppet Co. perform at Falls Road Local Park from 10 to 11 a.m. Bring sunny day gear and blankets or lawn chairs for viewing. This performance is for children of all ages. Parks Playhouse Junior performances will be rolling throughout the summer on both weekday and weekend mornings from 10 to 11 am. Young Makers Market: The Family Room in Laytonsville’s Young Makers Market includes makers, food truks, music, fire trucks and free crafts. The event takes place from 4:30 – 8:30 p.m. The Family Room is located at 6820 Olney Laytonsville Road. For more information, click here.
Saturday, July 27
Summerfest 2024 at Olney Theatre Center is the culmination of Olney Outdoors with free activities and performances happening all day from 1 – 6 p.m. Enjoy performances, backstage tours, food, an artist market, and more. Learn more and explore the schedule of performances here. Free. Activities take place throughout the OTC campus. Better Off Dead band performs at 8 p.m. and tickets may be purchased for $35. Concert in the Circle: The Bethesda Brass Ensemble, a part of the NIH Community Orchestra, will present a variety of classical and popular brass music at Warner Circle Park from 3 – 5 p.m. For more information, click here.
Farm Tour: 24 farms, orchards and vineyards are hosting special events during Montgomery County’s 2024 Farm Tour and Harvest Sale on Saturday and Sunday, July 27-28. Participants can pick flowers and produce, get close to animals, listen to music and enjoy the northwestern part of the county.

Rhythmaya Dance: Learn about classical, folk and modern dances from India as the Rhythmaya dancers perform at the Twinbrook Library from 2 – 2:45 p.m. This program is for all ages. Free. Twinbrook Library is located at 202 Meadow Hall Drive in Rockville. For more information, click here.
Wizard of Oz: The Puppet Co. presents the fairy tale written by L. Frank Baum, The Wizard of Oz at their theater in Glen Echo Park at 11:30 a.m. Second performance at 1 p.m. Recommended for ages 4 and up. Tickets cost $15. Sara Leibman and Gloria Solomon Art Exhibit: Bethesda Urban Partnership presents the “Next Venture” art exhibit from now through Aug. 4. Free.
