Katie Ledecky continues to do what she’s best at — winning gold medals. Ledecky won the 400 meter freestyle at the FINA World Championships in Budapest, Hungary. The Bethesda native beat 15 year-old Canadian sensation Summer McIntosh with a time of 3:58.15. American Leah Smith took the bronze medal.
This was Ledecky’s 16th career gold medal at the World Championships.

Ledecky, winner of seven career Olympic gold medals, and her competitors are setting sights on the next Summer Olympics, the 2024 Paris Games.
