Kathryn Mendelson, a counselor at Kingsview Middle School, was honored Monday for winning the Maryland Middle School Counselor of the Year Award, Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) announced in a tweet.
Mendelson also won the MCPS Middle School Counselor of the Year award during the 2021-2022 school year.
“Kathryn Mendelson believes that counseling is all about connections, and nowhere is the time more precious than in the sanctuary of her office. Her students know that her office is the place where they can share their secrets, regrets, fears and joys,” MCPS said on the 2021-2022 announcement page.
Mendelson, an 8th grade counselor, is in her 14th year as a counselor at Kingsview.
