Maryland Legal Aid hosts a free “Know Your Rights” workshop at the Casey Community Center in Gaithersburg on Wednesday, June 28.
During the workshop, participants will learn about tenant and landlord rights and the eviction process.
The workshop lasts from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will be presented in both English and Spanish.
Questions that will be answered include:
- What are a tenant’s legal rights?
- What are reasons a tenant can and cannot be legally evicted?
- Are there still payment exceptions from COVID-19?
- What should a tenant do if they are being harassed by their landlord?
- What should a tenant do if they receive an eviction notice?
The workshop will also include information about resources available for residents of the City of Gaithersburg. However, participants do not need to live in Gaithersburg to attend.
