Edward Buya Kamara Jr, 27, was charged in connection of an arson incident at 9709 Key West Avenue in Rockville on Nov. 19.
Kamara, of Lanham, was arrested by Montgomery County fire and explosive investigators and was charged with second-degree arson, first-degree malicious burning and mail destruction with a property value greater than $1,000.
The fire caused more than $40,000 in damages, according to Pete Piringer, spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue.
His preliminary hearing is set for Jan. 24, 2025.
