Update:
The occupants of the Potomac house engulfed in flames Wednesday discovered entire large rear deck, which is made of composite decking material, on fire and evacuated according to Piringer.
Damage is now estimated at $3 million.

A blazing inferno struck late Wednesday night for a Potomac family, leaving them without a home and millions of dollars in damages.
Pete Piringer, a spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services, said fire officials reported to the 10800 block of Brickyard Court near Falls Road in Potomac at approximately 10:15 p.m. for a call of a porch fire.

The occupying family was able to evacuate and escape with no injuries, Piringer said.
Piringer estimates approximately $2 million in damages caused by the inferno. The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced occupants of two adults, two kids, and one visiting child.

The cause of the fire has not been determined yet and is still under investigation.
