Thursday morning, the Maryland Department of Health reported 95 new COVID-19 cases in Montgomery County. Since the start of the pandemic, the cumulative case count for the county has climbed to 22,679.
The county had a rolling seven-day average of 2.54% for positive COVID-19 tests, which is a lower rate than 14 of Maryland’s 24 jurisdictions.
Montgomery County has led the state in coronavirus-related fatalities, adding one more Thursday for a pandemic total of 810. Prince George’s County, however, has recorded over 6,900 more coronavirus cases in total since March.
The state recorded 785 new infections Thursday, bringing its total to 125,510. The pandemic death toll as of Thursday morning is 3,805.
Thursday the state reported a rolling seven-day average of 2.88% for positive COVID-19 tests. This is the sixth straight day the state reported an increase.
