Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) will host Pulitzer prize author Tyehimba Jess on Thursday, April 27, as a part of the “Contemporary Conversations” series. The topic is “Poetry, Creativity and Expression – Celebrating National Poetry Month.”
Jess will discuss his work as a poet and fiction writer. He is the author of two books of poetry, Leadbelly and Olio. In 2017, Olio won the Pulitzer prize for poetry and Leadbelly was a winner of the 2004 National Poetry Series.
The event takes place at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 27 at Gaithersburg Library located at 18330 Montgomery Village Avenue. There will be a reception after the main program.
The MCPL program is free but registration is required. Residents can register to attend in-person on the MCPL website at this link OR to watch via live-streaming.
