Amid growing concerns of lithium-ion batteries, fire officials say the overheating of one of these batteries plugged into a charger possibly caused a Rockville fire.
The fire happened around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday morning in the 1300 Block of Crawford Drive. According to Pete Piringer, Montgomery County Fire and rescue Services spokesperson, the fire that started Un a second bedroom floor could have been caused by a 40 volt battery overheating and triggering an electrical malfunction.
