Extraordinary Investment Group, a local group focused on the local Black community, is hosting their third annual Juneteenth Black Business Expo on Sunday June 18.
The event takes place at Veterans Plaza this year from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. and is free and open to all. The People’s Community Church on Norwood Rd, Silver Spring hosted the previous two years.
Sixty local Black-owned businesses (up from 31 and 48 the past two years) will be featured along with live entertainment, food and festivities.
Past years have seen a wide range of vendors, performances like dance and step performances and children’s entertainment like bounce houses and face painting. The goal is to showcase and uplift local Black businesses and talent in honor of the national Juneteenth holiday.
The Extraordinary Investment Group was formally formed in 2020 around the idea to create change in their community through investment practices and financial education. Since the group’s formation, they have been able to educate individuals and groups through their various social media platforms. Their philanthropic efforts have also impacted hundreds of people.
