Covenant Life School (CLS) is hosting its 11th annual Servathon on April 17, a day dedicated to completing over 1,000 acts of community service.
Students will engage in 1,000 service activities, including preparing meals, creating gifts, volunteering, and assembling supply kits for local organizations and individuals in need.
Elementary and middle school students will make blankets for babies, meals for the homeless, and cards for first responders.
High school students will volunteer at 25 local non-profits, including NIH Children’s Inn, Comfort Cases, and local senior centers.
The senior class will hand-deliver all the items created during the day to local shelters, hospitals, animal rescues, and more. They’ll also deliver thank you cards to first responders, create birthday gifts for children in need, and send care packages to deployed military members.
The school’s string ensemble will visit older adults at Asbury Methodist Retirement Village, while other students will engage with residents through crafts and games at Forrest Oak Assisted Living and Ben Gaither Senior Center.
According to CLS’s website, their goal is to raise $150,000 to provide tuition assistance for local families pursuing Christian education.

- Toiletry items (for The Bowery Mission in Manhattan, Helping Hands Shelter, and Foster the Family)
“Serving begins with a posture of the heart. It’s not about us; it’s about others and about being the type of person who brings help, love, and light to the people around us,” said Jamie Leach, Head of the PreK-12 private Christian school.
