Police said a man was arrested for a carjacking and attempted burglary that occurred this month in the Fairland area.
Samuel Robert Bajard, 30, of an unknown address, was arrested last week on Thursday, June 20, according to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD). He is being held without bond.
According to police, officers responded to the 14100 block of Castle Boulevard at about 4:24 a.m. on Sunday June 9 for a reported attempted burglary. Police stated that Bajard and other unknown suspects tried to force entry into an apartment by kicking the door and throwing a rock through a window.
The apartment resident confronted the suspects, spraying them with bear spray, according to police. The suspects then left. As they were leaving the apartment complex, the suspects assaulted a driver in a Toyota Camry who had just come home, police said. The suspects left in the stolen Toyota.
According to police, detectives identified Bajard as one of the suspects during investigation. Earlier this month, detectives got an arrest warrant charging him with attempted burglary and carjacking-related charges.
